Bahrain European Association: Government measures and community solidarity contributed to the success of Ashura commemoration in accordance with COVID-19 measures.

The Bahrain European Association for Social Networking monitored Ashura occasion. Government facilities and community partnership in line with the COVID-19 measures that were put in place for the participants to tackle COVID-19 especially on the occasion of Ashura, took into account the safety of everyone and laid the foundations and ensured everyone exercise their freedom to practice their religious rites in accordance with the customs in the country and what is included in the National Action Charter.

The Bahrain European Association indicated that the heads of the community centers in the Kingdom of Bahrain supported the preventive measures announced by the authorities and their call to abide by them, comes as an expression of the extent of the responsibility they perceived in order to maintain public health and safety, and to adhere to the instructions and procedures to practice all rituals. Various government agencies have achieved effective partnership with religious leaders to achieve public interest by adhering to the preventive measures, and ensuring the safe practice of all rituals without risking the lives of the participants and their families.

The association commended the role of the Jaffari Endowments Council and the Husseini Processions Authority, which reflected a positive response to the preventive measures provided by health officials and following all health precautions when commemorating the Ashura occasion. Ashura commemoration in addition to the solidarity of participants, scholars, heads of community centers and committees supervising volunteers, and through a positive partnership achieved with government institutions and relevant agencies, foremost of which is the Ministry of Interior.
