Bahrain European Association Strongly reject the interference by human rights organizations and their politicization of a procedural issue for the inmate Abdul Jalil Al-Singace related to written papers
The Bahrain European Association for Social Communication expresses its concern about the continued politicization of the Bahraini human rights situation by some human rights organizations and allegations of abuses, the latest of which is raising the issue of the convict, Abdul Jalil Al-Singace.
She said that the role of human rights organizations is to find out the truth about any issue related to human rights before issuing any statement. But they aim at achieving political goals that are not related to human rights and intended to distort Bahrain’s human rights image and stir public opinion contrary to reality and truth.
The Bahrain European Association appreciates the role of the independent ombudsman in following up the case of the inmate Abdul-Jalil Al-Singace and clarifying all the facts about him, despite the latter’s refusal to speak with any party because of a regulatory procedure regarding the confiscation of a set of papers written by a released inmate who intended to smuggle them from the Correction and Rehabilitation Center.
And it confirms that the commitment for all the inmates also for the inmate Abdul-Jalil Al-Singace the importance of having adherence to the principles anywhere where the individual is in the community, and this is his duty, especially as he has full rights and access to medical care and communication with the family by default and every other need
In her statement, she indicated that the Correction and Rehabilitation Center’s provision of advice and guidance to the inmate, Abdul-Jalil Al-Singace, reflects the concern for his health because of his refusal to eat and also his refusal to the principles of the usual procedures in obtaining written papers for his family or any other party inside or outside.
The family of the inmate, Abdul-Jalil Al-Singace, urges to provide guidance due to his abstinence from food with the availability of medical care and its supply through intravenous solutions to maintain the level of sugar in the blood and ensure his health.
The European-Bahraini Association concluded its statements by emphasizing that human rights organizations should not interfere in the internal affairs with a political aim, because this is outside the principles of human rights that does not essentially apply to the situation of the inmate who has all the rights and is the one who has the choice to eat his food or not.
